Mending as an act of resistance

1

what does it mean to mend?

we are told: to repair

reinforce, reconstruct, redefine, resurrect

is meaningless,

unnecessary.

2

seditious joy lies in restoring the severed bond.

fierce compassion is required to feed liberation, to

honor visions of wholeness.

3

I offer my hands to hold.

4

each being is constructed from an infinite number of intersections:

time and place woven together

boundaries between self and other, interior and exterior, now and then, all

blur in the mirror behind my eyes.

friction rubs raw, wearing away until I stare

as at a wraith,

bodies dissolving.

5

you are not disposable.

eventually, everything connects.
